Graduation Crackers

Not too long ago, Greg and I took Ryan along with us for lunch at a Chinese restaurant while the big kids were at school. Ryan doesn't really like Chinese food, but that isn't really a surprise considering he doesn't like most food. Oddly enough, this particular restaurant always serves a salad of iceburg lettuce and ranch dressing that comes free with each entree ordered. (Is it just me, or is that weird? Doesn't really seem to go with the food theme. Especially when you get take out and get home and open the little square cartons and find them filled with soggy lettuce.) Anyway, Ryan does happen to like lettuce and ranch, so he got to fill up on that while we ate our lunch.

Then he throws me for a loop...."Mom, when are they bringing us our graduation crackers?", he asked. I told him I wasn't sure what he was talking about. So he says, "You know, those little crackers with the paper inside them?" Ahhhhh....Fortune cookies. I have no idea of what made him think they were called graduation crackers, but I don't think I'll ever be able to think of them as anything else. :)

  1. Kristie! I am so glad you left a comment so I could find your blog! I didn't know about it, and now I am so glad I get to keep up on the life of the Greg Hill clan.

I will have to try the cake balls with red velvet cake next time. They just look to good for me to believe they're not! Thanks for the tip.
